Mochi Video Creation FAQ

Mochi is Genmo's text-to-video model. The hosted Mochi Playground lets you create videos from written prompts in your browser. The open-source Mochi 1 model is also available to download and run locally.

Open the Mochi Playground at genmo.ai/play and sign in. Choose Mochi in the model menu, describe the video you want to create, and click Generate. You can monitor generation progress and view the result in My Creations.

Describe the subject, action, and setting. Add details about lighting, camera movement, and visual style. For example: A golden retriever runs through autumn leaves in a sunlit park. The camera tracks alongside the dog in slow motion. Start with a clear scene, then adjust the prompt to refine the result.

You don't need coding skills to create videos in the hosted Mochi Playground. Describe what you want to see in a text prompt, then click Generate.

Video generation typically takes 2-5 minutes depending on the complexity of your prompt and current server load. You can monitor progress in real-time.

We offer Free, Lite, Standard, and Pro plans. Each plan comes with different amounts of fuel (credits) and features. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time.

Fuel is our credit system. Each video generation consumes fuel based on the length and quality settings. Free users get a limited amount monthly, while paid plans include more fuel.

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll continue to have access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.

We generate videos in MP4 format with H.264 encoding. Our base model produces 480p videos, with higher resolutions available on paid plans.

Currently, videos can be up to 5.4 seconds long at 30fps. We're working on longer video generation capabilities.

No. The Mochi Playground currently creates videos from text prompts. Describe your scene in words to generate a video.

Generation can fail due to content policy violations, server overload, or prompt issues. Check our troubleshooting guide for common solutions.

If your video is stuck for more than 10 minutes, try refreshing the page. If the issue persists, contact support with your generation ID.

Try being more specific in your prompts, use descriptive language about lighting and camera angles, and consider upgrading to a plan with higher quality settings.

Yes! Click the download button on any generated video. Videos are available for 7 days after you make them and may be deleted after that, so download the ones you want to keep.
